About Us
Greetings!
My name is Veronica, and this is Rue Morgue Specimens. I always wanted to curate something for the collectors, the horror lovers, and the ones who never really fit in. Growing up in New Jersey and in New York I am no stranger to unique. All of us make our state what it is and that is ART. The beauty of these states is how rich we are in creativity. From the moment you step into the streets of Alphabet city to the walking grounds of your favorite antique shops down Sussex county. You can and always will find your niche. My family and I have been oddity collectors since 2012. I always had love for history and science and it has stuck with me to adulthood. To read books older than 100 years old and seeing how beautifully far medicinal work has come or the art of baking to the way we learn about ourselves as humans thanks to the great minds of Beauchêne and Ruysch. I wanted to know how to bring the joy of learning and it being fun for others without the natural resources. lol Growing up I loved to draw. Every book, every corner had some type of art in my studies. So I picked up a course of digital drawing and I loved it! One night with my husband I stayed up and had this brilliant idea! 3d printing has come so far! We use it to make toys, food, and have advanced to the medicine world! I was so impressed how a machine can create so many possibilities for someone! As I thought and my sleepy husband looking at me with a smile to his face as he is hearing his cooky wife talk about her dream it hit us both! Let’s do something a little different! A little odd. I did not just want to be an oddity shop but a shop to educate. To make science and spooky things fun! From animal articulation and skeletal molds to learning about the brain without getting your hands in brain goo. The possibilities are endless! So here we are. Dreams coming true and I wouldn’t have been able to do without my family. The ones who believe in me, help me and uplift me. This about me is about us and our love for art and creativity.
